Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Stormont House School.

I hope our website gives you a sense of the vibrant, ambitious and caring community that makes our school such a special place to learn and belong.

At Stormont House, we work with young people aged 11-17 who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities. Every student who joins us brings their own strengths, interests, personality, and potential. By building positive relationships we are able to adapt our teaching and individualise our support. We recognise and nurture each student's talents, raise aspirations and help them achieve more than they may have thought possible.

Through high-quality teaching, personalised support and meaningful opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, we aim to equip our students with the knowledge, confidence and skills they need for positive relationships and fulfilling adult lives.

We have high expectations for all our students and are committed to ensuring they:

•Make exceptional progress in their learning, social development and emotional wellbeing.
•Develop independence, resilience and the confidence to make informed choices about their future. [1]
•Leave Stormont House ready for the next stage of education, employment or training, with qualifications, experiences and ambitions that reflect their individual goals and aspirations. [2]

Our students are at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate individuality and value the rich diversity of our school community. Our students bring unique perspectives, strengths and ways of understanding the world. We strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, included and empowered to be themselves.

The safety and wellbeing of our students will always be our highest priority. We are committed to safeguarding and to helping young people develop the skills, understanding and confidence they need to navigate the world successfully and safely.

I hope you enjoy finding out more about our school. Whether you are a prospective parent, carer, professional or visitor, I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about the opportunities we offer.

If you would like to know more, please visit our About Us and Curriculum pages, or get in touch with us directly. We would be delighted to hear from you.
