Year 9 perform a Midsummer Night’s Dream at Stratford Theatre

10th November 2017

On Monday Year 9 went to Stratford Circus Arts Centre to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream as part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival. They have been working on this project since September. All of the students rose to the challenge of taking part in technical and dress rehearsals in a real theatre. They performed confidently and sang and danced like professionals. Miss Cross noticed that lots of students helped each other with their words and some knew each other’s parts by heart.

Here are a few comments from our students.

“It was a magical experience.”

“I was really happy that my family came to see me.”

“It was kind of scary to speak and perform in front of an audience.”

“It built up my self-confidence.”

“We pushed ourselves and we did it.”

“Although we felt nervous at first, we felt happy when the audience started to laugh.”

“James made everyone laugh.”

“I feel that I made everyone proud.”

“The play was so much fun and the KFC was so yummy. Thank you Miss Jessie!”

Afterwards the audience said it was a joyful performance. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the production.
