15th January 2016

On Wednesday 13 January 2016, our Year 10 students undertook their internal work experience interviews for their selected job within school. The students were able to choose from a wide range of different jobs which included: PE Assistant, Music Assistant, ICT Assistant. Gardening Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Food Technology Assistant, Library Assistant and Lunchtime Assistant.

The students were interviewed by members of our mentoring team staff from Williams Lea who have been working with our students since the beginning of the Autumn term to prepare them for the world of work. The mentors from Williams Lea have been working closely with Year 10 to develop their skill level when working with others. This has included creating personal statements, developing personal strengths and preparation for their internal work experience interviews.

The mentors that attended the interviews were, Mr Steven Dove, Ms Sophya Mapara, Ms Sara Freemantle, Ms Beata Zacharska, Ms Mel Stone and Mr Steven Lockstone. Stormont House School was represented by Ms Elford who took part in the interview process for the first time this year.

The students all presented themselves wonderfully in their interviews, the mentors included the following statements about the students interviews:
