20th October 2017

After a very good performance the school football team (Under 13 / Under 16) came 2nd in the East London Panathlon Football competition at Newham Powerleague Norwegian Playing Fields, narrowly missing out on the top spot to the team from Samuel Rhodes School from Islington. The other teams that took part were from the following schools: Barking & Dagenham (Mixed school team), Langdon School from Newham, St Angela’s School from Newham and Little Heath School from Redbridge.

Our footballers managed to win almost all of their games. They performed well, showing fantastic team effort, supporting each other throughout the competition. The teams have now qualified to go to the finals at Wembley where they will play against seven of the best teams from across London. The finals will take place on 29 November 2017.

The students that represented Stormont House and Hackney borough were:

Under 13 team: Cavonte, Joel, DJ, Arjun, Tavo, Kishone, Anthony

Under 16 team: Nanak, Malachi, Moses, Kelvin, Sunny, Marcel and Aaron B.

Well done everybody. You made our school proud again!
