Panathlon Highlights

5th April 2019

On Tuesday 26 March students from Year 9 and 10 took part in the East London Champions Final at UEL Sports Dock. Two students from Ickburgh School joined the team to take part in the multi-sport competition. The team competed against teams from Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and Newham. After a very good performance from everybody on the team Hackney came second in a very closely fought competition, the winners of the championships were the team from Barking and Dagenham who will now compete at the London Finals at the Copper Box in June. The team from Barking and Dagenham have won the London finals in the last 3 events.

The highlights of the competition: Our Polybat team were absolutely amazing and remained unbeaten to claim first place. New Age Curling: Silver medals for DJ and Joel / Top Table cricket: Silver medals for Tallulah S, Tavo, Humza, Mo, Cavonte, Moaya / Boccia: Bronze medals for Ryan, Nguze, Bedirhan and Aesha / Polybat: Gold medals for Shay, Arjun and Sunny / Athletics: Manual Wheelchair Slalom: 4th place for Bedirhan / Bean Bag Throw: Bronze for Nguze, Tallulah and Humza / Standing Long jump: Silver for Joel and Arjun / Javelin: Gold for Shay and DJ. Well Done everyone, Mr Hajdrych was extremely proud of every member of the team.
