News Update - Headteacher 17.07.20

17th July 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

I’m just sending a very brief message today, so that you know there will be more detailed information coming our next week.

We’ve had about 75% of students back in school for the reconnection days this half term as well as a consistent group of children of key workers/ more vulnerable students. I have been very impressed by how well they responded to the very different arrangements in school, and that does set us up well for September.

‘What will September look like?’ is probably the biggest question on your minds about school, and next week I’ll be giving you some detail on that, though our plan is for all students to return to school as rapidly as possible.

Incoming Year 7s haven’t yet had the chance to meet each other or staff properly, so we still need to get some transitional support in place right at the beginning of term. There will be more information on this next week.

Students joining Year 12 haven’t all yet had joining dates and arrangements for their external providers, and those leaving Year 11 and 12 will need additional support from us to get off to a good start in their new settings.

We will also be finalising our plans for food distribution in addition to the voucher scheme.

In the meantime, the attached leaflet is aimed at staff in schools, but I think here are many useful contact numbers and guidance points that might be useful for you, members of your family, or friends.

I’ll be back in touch next week, so wish you an enjoyable but safe weekend.

Kind regards
