New Year 7 News Update

27th August 2020

Dear Parents and Carers of Year 7 students

We are really looking forward to finally meeting all our new Year 7's together on Wednesday 9 September.

We have planned two half days to support transition to secondary school, as quickly and as safely as possible.

We ask that you bring your child into school at 9.15 on Wednesday 9 September and Thursday 10 September and collect them at 12.30 on each day.

On Wednesday 9 September once students have been transferred to the care of their form tutors we invite all Year 7 parents and carers to an introductory session until 10.00am that will include the role of the form tutor and behaviour for learning  as well as a tour of the school, for those parents who haven’t had the opportunity to do so.

Students will be with form tutors and curriculum support staff until collected by parents at 12.30.

The transition programme for Year 7 students for the two days will include:

- All about me activities , paired and team activities to get to know each other and staff

- Routines to keep everybody safe (handwashing, distancing etc.)

- introduction to the recovery curriculum and behaviour for learning

- introduction to the pastoral support team and key members of staff at Stormont House

All Year 7 students will begin full time on Monday 14 September  (9.00am – 3.00pm).

The Year 7 team look forward to seeing you at Stormont House School on Wednesday the 9 September

Best wishes to you and your family

Kind regards

Frances Jessie
