Alumni News – Olympic Debut for Lily

We have this week received news that Lily an ex- student from Stormont House School is due to fly out next week to Abu Dhabi to compete in the Special Olympics World Games.

The Games will run from 14-21 March 2019 and is the biggest sporting event taking place across the globe this year, it has more than 7,500 athletes competing from more than 180 countries.

The Games will run for seven days and will include 24 sports if you would like to find out more about the UK squad please use the following link

Lily has already won a number of gold and silver medals at both local and national levels and is at present ranked as the number 2 UK female tennis player with learning disabilities.

Lily was recently filmed for an inspirational film to mark the start of the World Games. Lily featured with the Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, England football manager Gareth Southgate and former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion David Haye as well as Ellie Simmonds, five-time Paralympics gold medallist.
