Jack Petchey Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony 2016

On Thursday 6 October the ‘Jack Petchey  Annual Achievement Award Ceremony’ for Hackney took place at Stoke Newington Town Hall. The event was attended by students from 4 secondary schools and a selection of clubs and youth projects from across Hackney borough.

 

The  Jack Petchey organisation supports almost 2,000 schools, colleges and youth organisations throughout London and Essex. The scheme which has been in operation for the last 15 years is a reward and recognition initiative which enables schools and youth organisations to celebrate the achievements of their young people. The presentation event is an opportunity  to highlight the positive contributions being made by students across Hackney. Achievement occurs in many forms and the award ceremony is a celebration and acknowledgement of the range and diversity of the award winners developments.

 

The following students attended the ceremony from Stormont House School - Shekinah (Yr 10), Jojo (Yr 9), Tia (Yr 12), Ben (Ex student), Ty (Yr 11), Brett (Yr 10), Chardonnay (Yr 8) and Joshua (Yr 12).  The awards were presented by His Worshipful, The Mayor of Hackney - Philip Granville.  The evening was a great success with entertainment provided by Springfield Soul and The Petchey Vocal Ensemble.  Thank you to parents /carers and family members for supporting their children at this fantastic event.
