Hampton Court Palace - The World of Henry VIII
18th November 2016
On Thursday 3 November Year 8 visited Hampton Court Palace to learn about the life of Henry VIII. The students started their session by learning a rhyme about the palace. During the workshop students dressed in costumes from the Tudor period, they visited Henry VIII’s apartment and saw his toilet! They played in the Palace grounds like Tudor princes and princesses.
The children also took part in a workshop to make lunch in the Tudor Kitchens for a Tudor banquet. They learnt how the food was prepared for example how to crush herbs using a pestle and mortar. They were able to use their senses to explore what life was like to work in the kitchens in Tudor Hampton Court.
The students had a really fantastic day out gathering some great memories and learning experiences.
