Hackney Sports Awards Ceremony

On Tuesday 3 November our sporting students at Stormont House School attended the ‘Hackney Sports Award Ceremony’ at the Hackney Empire. The awards being presented included:

The Mayors Award-recognising an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to sport and sport related physical activity landscape in Hackney through either a club, organisation or local community delivery.

Voluntary Services to Sport & Physical Activity-recognising individuals aged 14yrs and over who have made a significant voluntary commitment to a Hackney Sport and Sport related Physical Activity project/club or session.

Inclusion Award (GLL)-recognising an individual or group who have made a significant contribution in the development and delivery of opportunities for people with disabilities.Coach of the Year-recognising an individual coach who has made an outstanding contribution to an individual or Hackney club, project or organisation.

Sports Club of the Year-To recognise excellent club development work within Hackney for the benefit of the local communities in the past year.Team of the Year-This award recognises an under 11 team who has achieved outstanding success or achievements within their sport.Team of the Year-This award recognises an under 18 team who has achieved outstanding success or achievements within their sport.Sports Person of the Year under 16-

This award recognises an individual who has had outstanding success/achievements within their chosen sport.

Sports Person of the Year under 25-This award recognises an individual who has had outstanding success/achievements within their chosen sport.

Our students received the Inclusion Award as part of the Hackney Youth Games Disability Team, last year our team came second only losing out on first place by a few points. Mr Hajdrych won the Mayors Award for his services to sport in Hackney.
