Computing, Office and Digital Expression

In KS4 students currently follow the OCR Functional Skills course that is designed to equip learners with the skills to operate confidently, effectively and independently in education, work and everyday life. It aims to allow students to feel confident and capable when using ICT systems and tools.

Students are guided to find and select relevant information and then develop, present and communicate information in both life and work so that it is fit for purpose.  They develop a wide range of useful skills and techniques in the areas of word processing, e-mail, spread sheets and in using presentation software such as PowerPoint and Publisher.

They will be assessed by a combination of class work projects and short timed tests. Based on these results students will then be offered an appropriate OCR ICT Functional skills accreditation, ranging from EL1 up to L2.
