Year 12 Morrison Foerster Work Place Visit

9th December 2016

On Friday 2nd December Year 12 travelled into the City of London to go on a work place visit organised by The Brokerage City link to a Law firm called Morrison Foerster. Morrison Foerster is an American Law firm that have existed since 1883.

Year 12 first took part in a quiz to help them find out more about business in the City. They learnt that only 10,000 people live in the City of London Borough, it is only a mile squared and yet 400,000 people work in it.

Then they were taken on a tour of the Morrison Foerster building and met all the different types of people who work in the company. They met barristers, solicitors, IT technicians, caterers, post room staff and many more. They also got to see that it wasn’t all hard work and that even a big law firm has a games room.

To finish off our visit volunteers from Morrison Foerster worked with our students in four groups where they had to do a Dragon’s Den type presentation. They had a picture of a product and had to sell that product to the rest of the room. The law firm employees were very impressed with our Year 12’s ideas and presentation skills.

A good trip was had by all!
