Year 12 Enterprise Project and Christmas Market Stall
9th January 2015
Last Term Year 12 took part in an enterprise project funded by Business in the Community and delivered by Inspire and Stormont House staff. The Year 12’s learnt about how to start your own business. They had workshops with professionals who taught them about marketing and finance, they also had to make their own products by hand to sell on a stall. The Year 12’s chose to make Christmas cards and Loom band bracelets to sell on a Christmas market stall.
On Friday 28 December the Year 12’s ran their own Christmas Market stall at the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, the aim was to raise as much money as they could to fund future enterprise projects at school and donate some of the money to charity. It was a cold day and the market stall was outside but the Year 12’s braved the weather selling lots of their handmade cards and Loom band bracelets. On the day the Year 12’s raised £147 but there was still some stock left so the Year 12’s held another Christmas stall at school where they raised a further £113 thanks to pupils and staff buying their products.
The total collected was £260 of which £50 will be sent to the charity Cancer Research. Well done Year 12!
