The End of an Era - Year 11 Record of Achievement / Year 12 Celebration Event

30th June 2017

On Thursday 22 and Friday 23 June 2017, we hosted two amazing events for our Year 11 and 12 student leavers. Both events were a fantastic celebration of the student’s time at Stormont House School.

The Record of Achievement was attended by invited guests, parents / carers and students from Year 9 and 10. Mr McDonnell spoke about the achievements and strengths of each of the Year 11 student, and of their plans for the future. Mr Hawes (Chair of Governors) presented each student with their ROA folder.  Each year we present 8 prestigious awards to students who are nominated for the award by staff at Stormont House - the winners this year were: The Whitfield Award for Art and Design - Michaela, Queen Elizabeth Trophy - Joe, Edward Miles Award - Kevin, Stephen Ryder Award - Tyson, The Williams Lea Award - Joshua, The Grosvenor Award - Summai, Olympic Legacy Trophy - Lily and The Deryn Hall Trophy - Ty. The Jack Petchey Award for June was presented to Beth.

Year 10 were presented with awards for their internal work experience / attendance and punctuality.

For the first time this year we held a celebration event for our Year 12 students, which was hosted by Ms Thackaberry. The celebration was attended by parents / carers and students from Year 7 and 8. The students were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Work Experience Certificates and their yearbooks and reports. The well-deserved recipient of The Trailblazer Award for outstanding leadership qualities and exceeding expectations was Moses. The audience were treated to musical performances by Timothy, Adam, Moses and Jorge and videos created by the Year 12 in collaboration with Hackney Inspire! and Mediorite.

The ceremonies were a perfect way of honouring our student’s achievements. Well Done and Good Luck for the future to all our leavers.
