1st May 2015

On Saturday 18 April Jordan from 11P took part in the annual ‘Swimathon’ event which was established in 1986. Swimathon is a nationwide swimming challenge that encourages swimmers up and down the UK to swim a variety of challenge distances at their local pool and raise money for charity. Over the past 27 years of Swimathon, more than half a million swimmers have taken part, raising over £40million for charitable causes.

Jordan swam with his sister to raise money for the Marie Curie Charity Organisation. Their target was to swim a distance of 5km which they achieved in 2 ½ hours. They undertook the challenge at Gurnell Leisure Centre in Hanwell and as a result of their swim raised over £300. Jordan stated that he was very tired when he finished but he felt very happy and proud that he had succeeded in completing the distance.
