St Patrick’s Day Extravaganza

On Friday 17 March Stormont House School was visited by the St. Patrick’s Day Troupe of dancers and musicians, the troupe visit the school every year, it is made up of pupils from across East London who either come from Ireland themselves or have parents / grandparents with Irish heritage. They performed using traditional Irish instruments (small harp, banjo, tin whistle bodhran, concertina, guitar and fiddle) and danced set dances wearing soft shoes known as ghillies and hard shoes that are similar to tap shoes.
