Year 8

In P4C (philosophy for children), students are offered opportunities to ask questions that puzzle them about the world around them and discuss these questions in a safe and supportive environment.

Students’ thinking and social skills are developed through debating, justifying their answers, challenging one another’s ideas and working out solutions as a group, while understanding the need for respect for others’ points of view. This year, we will discuss themes and issues such as growing up, prejudice towards difference and bullying.

Students also have an opportunity to explore roles and expectations through drama and role play. Finally, students design their own presentation on a topic of their choice relating to personal development (how to make friends, how to be happy, how to be the best you can be).
