Personal and Social Development

P.S.D is a new course at KS4 and is a combination of two subjects; Humanities and PSHCE. The course involves pupils in the exploration and study of issues and themes important to human societies.
 
Pupils will develop enquiry and critical thinking skills through discussion of issues that are important, real and relevant to the world in which they live. They will look at factors influencing people’s lives, their beliefs and values, and their interaction with the natural environment, now and in the past.
 
Units studied in year 10 - Civil Rights protests in the USA in the 1960s / Keeping safe; legal and illegal drugs / Britain, the Empire and the world.
