Year 7

In Humanities, students will learn about the definitions of vocabulary associated with history and geography and will be encouraged to use them in their speech and writing. In history the topics covered are: the Celts, the Romans, Horatio Nelson, Olaudah Equiano, medieval life as a Norman. The topics in geography are: the locality, the world, London, Taiwan, maps and map skills. Students will work independently, in pairs and in groups. They  will write about, draw, and perform role play and hot seated characters from events in British history. In geography they will learn to read different kinds of maps and the symbols used in map keys. They will use this knowledge to draw their own maps of a place they will visit.
